totally impressed! July 22, 2010 Ciel Thoughtfully designed for easy, practical use. Solid, not the least bit flimsy. Broom width (8.5" bristles width) is great - not too narrow (too narrow would make you feel like you're sweeping floor with a toy broom) & not too wide (which would be cumbersome.) Dustpan width is 12", & the lip of the dustpan will lay seemingly perfectly flat to the floor so you can actually sweep everything in your pile into the pan. Leaves just a teeny weeny bit, if any. It's lightweight - even kids as young as 7 could probably manage this fairly easily. If you're tall, you might not like the broom handle heighth of 38" from the floor. The dustpan handle is 34" from the floor. I'm 5'7" & I love it. One daughter is 5' tall & she loves it. The 5'10" daughter loves the way it works but she does have to stoop a bit. The broom handle easily snaps (unsnaps easily when you want it to) onto the dustpan handle for carrying & storage, & snapped combo will fold up & flat for spaces as narrow as 4.5" wide. When snapped & folded, combo is 42" high. Can't say enough good things about this combo. Great gift college dorms, young people, old people, shower gift? Anything! Hope this helps someone!worth every penny.
Way more than I bargained for.... February 13, 2010 Be Hopeful (Florida) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I can't believe I am writing a review for a broom and dustpan. But everytime I use it I can't believe any broom/dustpan could make sweeping/cleaning up easier...I mean how hard was it to begin with?
It is well made, solid but not heavy, easy to pivot/flip, and the best part is the lip lays so flat and angled to the wood floor that there is nothing left on the floor when you sweep it into the pan. No "line" of dust or particles etc.
The "line" of leftovers was such a lifelong accepted annoyance that it never occurred to me there could be a dustpan that doesn't require you to sweep the stuff in from three directions and several angles before you get it all. But this one leaves nothing behind. It's also a deep, big dustpan that can take it all without being emptied until you are finished.
The broom is smaller than I would have thought or usually bought but I was also surprised by how much easier and more efficient it is to use a smaller broom. You can get into any place with it, dustballs from behind furniture don't stick to it, they drop right into the bin without leaving behind the "yuck" that you need to use a paper towel to pull off after sweeping everytime.
No bending
No dirty/dusty hands from holding the pan
No picking or wiping up the line of dust/debris that can't get into the pan
No pulling off dustballs from the broom at the end
No getting dusty and dirty because it's all from a distance
No losing the broom or pan...getting one from the laundry room where they both belong and one from the porch where it was last used...they stay together with a snap
No emptying two or three times because it's not deep enough or what's in it falls forward when you bend over and angle it to get the next line of debris. Since it gets everything without having to angle it toward the floor, nothing falls forward when you move to the next spot to sweep.
I never thought sweeping up was such a pain in the butt until I used this and found out how many times I used to bend over, wipe up with a rag, make multiple trips to the garbage, sweep every pile 3-5 times at every conceivable angle etc...I am so glad my husband stepped on the old plastic dustpan and cracked it so I could find out how quick and easy this one is compared to my old one which apparently was horrible on the dustpan scale - while I thought all dustpans were alike - NOT SO!
The broom is too small December 8, 2009 Lisa Leung I understand the design of the broom/dustpan is such that the broom will snap into the dustpan. But that seems more gimmicky than anything else, because it creates more inconvenience than it saves. The broom is too small; its suitable only for sweeping a pile of dirt into the dustpan. You have to buy another separate broom for the actual sweeping part.
The Dust Pan Is Great! September 24, 2009 http mom (San Francisco Bay Area) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I threw out the broom the first day,it really sucked, but the dust pan is handy for my regular broom. I kinda wanted a connecting set, however.
Great for all sorts of jobs! September 12, 2009 Marcie (Delaware) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Love this dustpan/broom -- very handy and easy to do quick pick-ups. Folds up for easy storage.
